by Debby Rose Westham Over the Bridge of Time is a history of an area of Weymouth developed out of the parish of Wyke Regis. The year 1882, when the name, West Ham, first came into use, was a milestone in its history. Westham became part of the Borough of Weymouth and Melcombe Regis in 1895 and a parish in its own right in December 1901. Its boundaries have been extended over the years, and this book takes a virtual walk around them in its history of the development within them. The early vision of the future had come into being and progressed to the Westham we know today. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to Westham COPS for use within the Westham community. |
